Our program offers a well-rounded and intellectually empowering student-centered experience that prepares undergraduates for their chosen careers and builds a foundation of life-long learning and success. At URI, we envision our program as every student’s “second major” – an opportunity for students to explore their interests at multiple levels and satisfy and further spark their intellectual curiosity.

Faculty Funding Available

Funding can be used to support any of the following GE related activities:

Provide an honorarium to external speakers that broaden the perspectives discussed in class and increase the visibility of underrepresented groups or individuals doing work in your discipline.
Engage students through cultural and arts events, museum exhibits, film screenings, field trips, or other enriching activities and experiences.
Travel to gather and develop content to enhance the delivery of a Gen Ed course.
Attend pedagogical training/workshops to improve the delivery of a Gen Ed course.
